Halloween weekend

What a fun Halloween weekend we have had. It's been a little chilly here...we had to get out the sweaters for our Friday night festivities, but Halloween night was beautiful.

The BIG kids had a great time on Friday at school, and the babies and I had fun visiting for the "Character Parade". Conner's class all dressed as Mad Scientists. I'll admit I was a little "put-off" when I learned that all the children in the class would be the same thing. However, when I learned that the kids would be working on their costumes in class, I warmed to the idea. I think they all looked adorable in their "Mad Scientist caught in an explosion" get-ups.

Jocelyn was Ariel, and looked beautiful! She was excited to have me bring the little girls into her classroom, and show them off. They weren't in costume, but they still had on their Halloween garb.

Friday night we attended the school's Pumpkin Walk. There were so many FUN pumpkin faces to look at. We didn't stay long at the school, but hurried home to warm up a bit and put on jackets for the ward Halloween party.

The ward Halloween party was at the new ball field. The kids had fun eating junk food, fishing in the "fishing pond", and playing tug-of-war. It was nice to chat with our friends, and enjoy the delightful Fall weather.

Halloween night the kids were so excited to start Trick or Treating. We could barely get them to wait until 6:00. They reminded me of our deadline throughout the day with, "it's two o' clock mom, only four more hours until Trick or Treating." Finally the evening hours arrived. We had a quick dinner of cheese sandwiches at 5:30, and got the kids decked out in their costumes. We headed out the door at 6:00 sharp! It was so much fun to Trick or Treat with the kiddos this year. They're the perfect ages right now. We didn't have to drag them along, and we didn't have a fussy baby for too long. Gracie knocked out about a half an hour into our trek. The kids got TONS of candy...way too much for their little bellies. I relieved them of the nutty items~~ peanut m&m's, snickers, and the like, because none of them like peanuts yet. (Lucky me~Yum!) We had a very HAPPY HALLOWEEN.

I remember when Mrs. Bretzke wanted the kids to dress up as nerds the year Derek was in and how frustrated I was by that at 1st. I dont know why. I guess I was bummed he wouldnt be wearing his costume more than two times. But when I saw them in the parade I changed my mind and warmed up to the idea just like you. Your children and their costumes are so cute.
